---SoF .pak File Installation Tutorial---

In this .pak file installation tutorial, I will attempt to explain the simple process of installing a Soldier of Fortune .pak file.

Step 1:
Well, you need a .pak file, so find one somewhere. I'll use my DeathTrap.pak file as the example.

Just find one to download. They are usually compressed using Winzip®, Winrar® or some other file compressor. This example uses Winzip®. Most file compression tools work in basically the same way.

Step 2:
Anyway, let's download our .zip file containing the beloved .pak file.

Oh look, there it is on our desktop. Nifty!

Step 3:
So, once you have the .zip file downloaded, open it. Inside, you should find the .pak file you desire. In this example, the .pak file is named DeathTrap.pak

Of course, if you actually read the README.txt file in these things, you wouldn't need a tutorial like this one, most of the time. Anyway, to continue......

Step 4:
Time to navigate to the SoF directory. The SoF main folder will look something like the following picture:

Step 5:
Now open the SoF base/ folder. It should look very similar to the following picture:

If you see those same .pak files, the name of the folder is "base" and your path in the address bar is similar to the picture, then you are in the right place. Pat yourself on the back. Just remember that the overall path may be different than pictured, depending on what version of SoF you have and whether you installed in the default directory.

Step 6:
Now it is time to place the .pak file that we are installing into the SoF base/ folder. The easiest way is to click-and-drag the desired .pak file over the empty area of the base/ folder and drop it in as illustrated in the following picture:

When you drop the .pak file, it will then be in the SoF base/ folder where it belongs:

Now you are ready to start Soldier of Fortune and enjoy the contents of the .pak file you just installed. Have fun!
